In November 2010, Jonathan contacted us looking for a guitar teacher for his four year old daughter Claire. For two months, Claire has been asking her father to buy her a guitar so she can learn to play the guitar. Not wanting to disappoint his daughter, Jonathan contacted several music schools in Singapore with this request. However he was turned down as the other music schools felt that Claire was too young to start music lessons, and could not handle a complex instrument like the guitar.
When we heard of Jonathan's plight, we immediately stepped in to help. We met up with Jonathan and Claire and found her to be a bright kid who is certain of what she wants at this tender age. Instead of the guitar, we recommended to Jonathan that Claire start off with learning the ukulele as this is a simpler instrument to master as compared to the guitar. We then assigned our ukulele teacher who has proven success with coaching young children to teach Clair to play the ukulele.
